Animal Farm
Animal Farm, a book that I am currently analysing for a project. This book is renowned worldwide, written by George Orwell and first published in England on the 17th of August 1945, only two weeks before the end of World War 2.
The story tells of the tale of Manor Farm, an English farm run by a corrupt and evil drunk called Mr Jones. Late one evening, when Mr Jones is asleep in the house, a boar named Old Major summons all the animals, Old Major knows that his life is almost over and wants to pass on some knowledge for the animals to take with them onwards. The Moral of Old Major's story is that the hardness they endure is due to the way man treats animals as property without kindness, Old Major makes it clear that "all animals are equal". He motivates the animals and this becomes the beginning of the revolutionary movement against man, however as the story goes on, the animals don't act the way in which Old Major would have wanted.

the side of the barnyard "ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL"

As previously stated, Animal Farm is the chosen book for my project, therefore thorough research has been done on each of the characters in the book. This character map acquired online shows me how each of the characters interlink, what each of their roles where and how significant each one was.
Below is the character map, the top half of the map shows those who have the most major role, there are 8 key players in total.

Therefore, Animal Farm was my choice of book to analyse and study, this was a very easy choice for me as I studied this book in school and took a keen interest in it. The book is very much based on the theory of revolution, this directly interlinks with the Russian leaders / revolutionaries with the such as Stalin, Lenin and Trotsky. As the story tells the pigs are the hierarchy, therefore are the revolutionary leaders from what the story tells, Old Major is Lenin, Snowball is Trotsky and Napoleon is Stalin.
