The book tells us that in the modern day there has never been as many distractions before, with the likes of social media being the key form of procrastination for us all. On a weekly basis for the average person if we each individually added the amount of hours we spend on the likes of Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, Twitter and so on it would total to a shocking amount. So many hours wasted that could have been used elsewhere. Until this class I never originally thought about the amount of time I spent on social media, it just became a daily routine as for me my phone is the main distraction I have. Therefore by limiting my usage on social media I can become more productive especially in relation to university work.
Working on a daily basis has previously been a hinderance for me, I have been guilty of being in the routine of leaving my entire workload to only a few days before my deadlines. Adrian pointed out how many free hours each of us have from 9-5 on a weekly basis, I don't have a part time job so mine totalled to quite a lot. By even working for an hour or two each day the workload for the final outcome would decrease drastically.
